Thanksgiving/November Unit

I am finally getting around to posting the November studies along with our activities.  We have continued to take more of a unit study approach to our schooling and we love it!!

We used a free Thanksgiving printables pack from 3 dinosaurs.  This site has a lot of really cute printables.  They usually offer a tot pack and a regular pack for each subject.  I downloaded both and mix and matched them for the boys, they both went along with the book "There was a Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie".  I also supplemented Colton's work with a turkey fun book from Simple Schooling via CurrClick.

Weston's work for the month.

Colton's language work.  We reviewed some basics in pre-writing, alphabet, and did a introduction on compound words.

His math consisted of patterns, like and different, higher number recognition and we continued his addition/subtraction skills via TouchMath.

He loved learning about the turkey breeds.  My kids are animal obsessed!!

All in all November was a pretty productive month even if we slacked off at the end.  Be sure and check our our activities that go along with the unit.  Our Thanksgiving story art, Thankful tree and Election Day activities are great!!
