Oil/Chalk Pastel Shark Art

Today we hosted art class at our house.  We used the Shark Art Chalk Pastels book by HodgePodge.  My Sister taught the preschoolers and I worked with the older ones.  Instead of chalk pastels we used oil pastels for our projects.  But we still followed the same technique the book said and it all worked out great.

For the first project they looked at the guide picture below and then created their own shark fin in the ocean.

 The little ones only completed the first project.

 

I really thought all the kids would have more fun with the blending and smearing of the oil pastels but that was probably their least favorite part.  Still they did great and we had a blast.
