Ice Cream and Cookies for Breakfast..That's Life: Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

Today my Husband and I took our crew to Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Kentucky. Typically my children are wonderful during "adventures", they could be driving me crazy at home but load them up and go do something fun and you will have well behaved, happy children. Today was not typical. After a wonderful, peaceful 1 hour and 15 minute car ride we arrived, then their feet hit the parking lot and it all went downhill. I know we all love our children and I am not any different but I also know we have those days when you just want to bury your head in the sand and pretend you are living it up on a beach somewhere drinking a margarita....today was one of those days. However we all managed to survive even if we did cut the trip a little short. Enjoy the pictures and if you decide to venture there yourselves I will wish you better luck:-)

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is a beautiful park. A large portion of the area is handicap and stroller accessible plus they have wonderful rest rooms, snack shop, visitor's center and gift shop in the same place. It is definitely on the higher end of the State Parks we have visited. It is usually very busy and best known for it's Moonbow, a lunar rainbow that happens at night when the moon is full, the moonbow can be white or contain color. Moonbows can happen over virtually any waterfall from time to time but there are only two places where it can be counted on enough to predict a reliable schedule; Cumberland Falls in Kentucky and Victoria Falls in Africa. It is sort of a big deal.
