Fall Watercolor Leaves

Our latest art project was a bit ambitious.  I found it on Pinterest and was sort of hesitant about the littles being able to do it but they rocked it out. The finished products were beautiful and all the kiddos enjoyed it:-)

Steps 1 and 2:
First find a leaf template online or trace a large leaf you find outside.  I decided to go with a template because my OCD needed them all to match.  Next you make a dot in the middle of your leaf and then use a ruler to draw lines and sections across the leaf.

Step 3:
The next part is the fun part.  The kids used watercolor paints to paint each section a different color.  We focused on red, green, yellow and orange since we wanted fall leaves.

Steps 4, 5, and 6:
I cut out the leaves, glued them on colored construction paper and then cut out a border around them:-)  They turned out really nice!! And a perfect Fall decoration.
